A Pretty Girls Guide to the Boston Fleet

A Pretty Girls Guide to the Boston Fleet

because sometimes your team isn’t just a team… it’s an identity, an energy, and a little bit of main character chaos

Intro

There’s something about Boston teams that just feel intense in the best way. The history, the pride, the fans who care a little too much (which is exactly how it should be)… it’s never casual. And the Boston Fleet? They bring that same energy, just with a sharper edge and a little more heart.

If you’re the kind of girl who doesn’t want to bandwagon, who likes a team with something to prove, something to build, something to become… this is your team. The Fleet aren’t about coasting. They’re about pushing, almost getting there, and then coming back even harder.

So… Who Are the Boston Fleet?
  • City: Lowell (Greater Boston)

  • League: Professional Women's Hockey League

  • Home Arena: Tsongas Center

  • Colors: forest green, aqua, navy, teal

  • Founded: 2023

The Fleet are one of the PWHL’s original teams, built right as the league launched, meaning you’re not just watching a team, you’re watching something being created in real time

The Vibe Check

The Boston Fleet are gritty, emotional, and lowkey dramatic. They’re not the perfectly polished, always-dominant team.

They’re the kind that:

  • fights for every win

  • drags games into overtime

  • makes things harder than they need to be… and somehow thrives in it

Like, they literally made a playoff run where multiple wins came in overtime. That’s not just skill, that’s character development.  They play like they have something to prove, because they do, and that makes them so fun to watch.

The Aesthetic

The Fleet are ocean-coded.Think:

  • deep green tones

  • navy + teal layers

  • subtle maritime influence (their name literally comes from Boston’s shipping history)

Their logo even incorporates an anchor into the design, which is very “grounded but powerful.”

The Girls You Need to Know

(aka your entry points into obsession)

✧ Megan Keller (Captain)

Calm, steady, leader energy. She’s the type who doesn’t need to be loud to control the game. If you like composed, confident women… start here.

✧ Aerin Frankel (Goalie)

Goalies are already main characters, but she’s that goalie. She literally led the playoffs in saves during their finals run. High-pressure, clutch, slightly unhinged (in a good way).

✧ Alina Müller

International talent, smooth, skilled, and just fun to watch. She adds that global, polished energy to the team.

The Lore (and Why It Matters)

The Fleet are new, but their story isn’t. Boston already had a dominant women’s hockey presence before the PWHL, and when that league folded, this team became the continuation of that legacy.

Which means:

  • there’s history behind them

  • expectations are high

  • and they’re carrying something bigger than just a new team identity

They made it all the way to the Walter Cup Finals in their first season… and lost in a close series. That kind of loss is the type that creates a revenge arc.

Why You Should Pick Them

Pick the Boston Fleet if you:

  • love an underdog that’s this close to winning

  • want emotional games (overtime stress included)

  • care about vibes, resilience, and growth

  • like being early before a team becomes that team
