A Pretty Girl's Book Review: Teenage Dream by Logan Rylie

4.5 ⭐️

Teenage Dream completely exceeded my expectations, especially as a debut. It captured that confusing, emotional, and quietly transformative stage of your early twenties so well, where everything feels uncertain but full of possibility at the same time.

Maisie was such an easy character to connect with. She has this huge heart and gives so much of herself to everyone around her, but watching her slowly start choosing herself and figuring out what she actually wants was so satisfying. Her “f*ck it” list added such a fun, freeing layer to her journey, but it also felt really meaningful like she was reclaiming parts of herself she had put on hold.

And Henry… I’m actually obsessed. He is the definition of golden retriever energy!!! attentive, soft, emotionally present, but also had that unexpected edge that made him even better. The way he noticed everything about Maisie and supported her without ever pushing her boundaries? Unreal. Truly “if he wanted to, he would” in human form. The fact that he fell first and just knew what he wanted made every moment between them hit even harder.

Their chemistry was so natural, from the banter to the quieter, more intimate moments. Watching Maisie try to resist something Henry already understood was inevitable had me giggling, kicking my feet, and fully invested. And when things did finally shift between them… yeah, this book definitely has more spice than you expect (in the best way).

The friendships were another standout. Wren brought so much humor and personality, and the dynamic between her and Maisie felt real and grounding. And don’t even get me started on Miles… I already know his story is going to be everything.

Overall, this is such a strong, addictive debut! A perfect summer romance with friends-to-lovers, small-town charm, and characters you don’t want to let go of. I genuinely could’ve read 100 more pages of Henry and Maisie and still not been ready to say goodbye. ☀️📚💛
